Biography
Mojtaba Karabi (also known as Barsam) was a 30-year-old powerlifting referee from Sabzevar. He was shot by security forces in Tehran's Salsabil area on January 11, 2026, during protests, and subsequently suffered brain death. He died on January 19, 2026, at Imam Hossein Hospital in Tehran, succumbing to his injuries. His family later faced pressure from the Martyr Foundation to alter his tombstone inscription from "Javidnam" to "Shahid," and his tombstone was broken after their refusal.
مجتبی کرابی (برسام)، داور پاورلفتینگ و ۳۰ ساله، اهل سبزوار بود. او در تاریخ ۲۱ دی ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات در منطقه سلسبیل تهران هدف شلیک مستقیم نیروهای امنیتی قرار گرفت و دچار مرگ مغزی شد. وی بر اثر جراحات وارده، در تاریخ ۲۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ در بیمارستان امام حسین تهران جان باخت. خانواده او بعداً برای تغییر عنوان «جاویدنام» روی سنگ مزارش به «شهید» توسط بنیاد شهید تحت فشار قرار گرفتند و پس از مقاومت خانواده، سنگ مزارش شکسته شد.
